Nugget ice makers are all the hype and rave right now. I have always been an ice eater, but I had to be careful as it's not great for your teeth. I realized that some restaurants and fast-food places started to carry nugget ice, and I was going out of my way to get it, just to eat it. I also gave birth to an ice eater who can double my ice intake in an hour (go figure). So, it was only natural for me to invest in a machine.
This Cowsar nugget ice maker is definitely a luxury item, not a necessity, but it adds fun elements to our foods, it's nice to munch on and anyone who visits our home is always excited to try the nugget ice.
With any product that has water inside, it is recommended to clean this product regularly! Just like a coffee maker, Keurig or espresso machine, you do not want water to have a chance to grow mold. Each time the machine indicates that the water needs to be refilled, I use that opportunity to clean the machine out with a mild soap, rinse all soap suds very carefully and then run vinegar through it and a regular water cycle to wash out the vinegar. The vinegar is your best bet to keeping the machine clean. I also purchased tablets for cleaning the machine thoroughly that I use once a month. Those can be found here.
Another note on this product, it is loud! Similar to an ice maker in a refrigerator, it sucks in the water and has a fan to operate the machine making it loud. The noise doesn't discourage me though, not gonna lie. Let me know in the comments if you have a nugget ice maker and what brand you love.
