If you have kiddos and they are getting ready to start Spring break, now is the time to start thinking about what activities you can do to keep them engaged and entertained during that time. As a working mom of two, I have found in the past that by having a plan in place for each day, it really helped me to keep a good flow. I would think of fun activities or games to incorporate into each day.
Routines are really important for kids and structure can also ensure that they stay in routine for going back to school. I don't treat Spring break like a 'vacation' from school, but rather a respite or rest period. I am not going to wake them up early or make them go to bed at exactly 8:00, but I will stick to reading a book each night, practicing sight words and math skills, doing our nightly bedtime routine, eating dinner at the same time, etc.
Some fun ideas of things you can get to keep kiddos busy during break are crafting kits, slime kits, bead making kits, or science kits.
If you can, try to incorporate time at your local park, taking walks, going somewhere that is outdoors or even planning a vacation as a family!
Happy Spring :)
